I will guide you through:
- Changing colors/textures.
- Changing exterior.
- Editing structural elements.
Change colors and textures
- Let's add our own touch to the 3D model. Open the SketchUp house model you want to customize.
- Select the Paint Bucket Tool from the toolbar.
- Click on the Sample Paint button, then click on the color or texture you want to change.
- Choose the new color or texture from the Materials panel, or browse your own material image file to apply a custom texture to the selected surfaces.
- In the example above, we changed the color of our interior wall panels. The possibilities are endless; you can change textures and colors on any part of your model. Follow this simple process to make the exact changes you want.

Change exterior elements
- You can customize all exterior details, such as gutters, roofing materials, facade types, aluminum profiles, windows, doors, and much more. Follow along to see how it's done.
- First, select the group/thing you want to edit and change its colors/textures using the SketchUp tray. Alternatively, you can delete the element and add your own if desired.
- You can add/delete everything you want, but use our dimensions; otherwise, you will need to adjust your walls, profiles, window sills, and other parts. Our models are 100% pre-made, making it possibly for you to build instantly, without the need for additional modifications.
- In this example, we've changed the original eaves to a different style. To do this, click File, then Import, and select your component file.
Edit structural elements
- Start by hiding the components and groups that obstruct the structural components you want to modify. In this example, we'll adjust the roof trusses.
- To adjust our roof trusses, click Edit Group and then Hide all other elements so we can focus on our trusses.
- We want to increase the height of the roof trusses from 120mm to 145mm. To do that we simply select the Extrude Tool and push our rafterhead 25 mm down, job done.
- In this last example, we'll change the studs from 45x95mm to 45x70mm. The process is the same: Hide objects in the way, adjust the view to focus on the given BIM detail, select the component, and resize the studs and other components if needed, in this case, the insulation layer.
