Import SketchUp model
- Navigate to your newly downloaded SketchUp model.
- Open your new SketchUp model or import it into an existing project. In this example, we’ll open the original model. Remember to create a backup copy before you start editing the original file you downloaded. (It's very important to always have a fresh, non-edited version, just in case.)
- In SketchUp, use the selection tool to highlight the entire house. Simply click and drag around the model or triple-click any part to select all connected elements.
- Right-click on the model and select Unlock, then choose Explode. After that, right-click and select Unlock again. Repeat this process until the house's color changes from red to blue.
- Hold the middle mouse button to pan around, and use Shift with the middle mouse button to orbit and rotate the view. Enjoy exploring your new SketchUp design—and if you want more tips, check out our next guide.
